Day 81 - Eighty Mile Beach

Day 81 - Eighty Mile Beach
I would love to say that I woke up this morning and the wind had abated and we went fishing all day and caught lots of fish, but alas that would be lying, wishful but lying!!  When we got up it was still blowing a gale so we really were experiencing the windy west coast of Australia!!

Zac fishing at Eighty Mile Beach

Zac went down to the beach early but all he caught was cold feet and hands. Pete and I spent the morning pottering around the caravan, doing the washing and laying the new lino squares.  About three weeks ago we pulled up the carpet that was in the van because it was very, very dirty and have now replaced it with lino squares, much easier to keep clean.
After lunch with all chores finished Pete and I decided to go for a long walk down the beach, it was either that or strangle someone being couped up in the caravan in very strong winds was not fun for anybody, but I think the children coped better than I did!!

Eighty Mile Beach - sand and flat surf as far as the eye
could see!!

The walk was nice and we proceeded to collect some more shells, I have no idea what I will do with them all!!
Eighty Mile Beach Caravan park also has a market every Sunday so we headed off to that and I bought a couple of books and donated those I have already read to the Royal Flying Doctor stall.
The highlight of the day was catching up with some people that we had met at Barn Hill for 5pm drinks (pepsi max for me!!)
A very slow day for everyone, tomorrow we start the journey to Karajini National Park.
