Day 121 22/07/2011 Leeming – Bunbury via Mandurah

Day 121 22/07/2011 Leeming – Bunbury via Mandurah
When we woke this morning we heard the sound of rain sprinkling on the caravan’s roof, so we knew it was time to leave and head south. But before we could go I had decided that the car needed a quick vacuum and clean!! Pete had that “why” look on his face but I was happy once it was done and we hit the road with a clean car.  The kids tried to blame me for the rain because I cleaned but I explained to them that one only made the rain come when they washed a car or windows!!

I could so live here!! not sure how I will fund the purchase
though?? Boss can I work from WA??

The drive south was very pretty with lots of rolling hills and lush paddocks.  We stopped at Mandurah for lunch and were very impressed with this pretty seaside town.  Mandurah is set up for the summer time tourists, there were beautiful boardwalks that took the visitor around the canal’s. We decided that we would have a walk and look around before lunch and we hoped to take advantage of the break in the rain.  The walk took us around the residential area, built up around the man-made canals. We walked around bug eyed at the beautiful houses and the gorgeous cruisers parked at the private docks in front of each house.  We even had the chance to sit and watch a pelican fish for his lunch!! We decided that Mandurah was somewhere we would love to visit again in warmer weather.
After lunch we headed back onto the highway and off to Bunbury, the boys were extra excited because they were going to see their friends. The drive was uneventful but slow because the rain was so heavy!!
Arriving in Bunbury was fabulous except, as we drove up Pete looked around and focussed on Danni’s very steep driveway and exclaimed “Where am I supposed to park??” I replied “I don’t know Danni said the van would fit on the drive way!!” We both looked perplexed and parked the van on the footpath.  Luckily Danni had it all planned and we had beds waiting for us inside.  It was great to catch up with friends from home, Danni and Steve and their boys Drew and Dylan and Jane the added extra.
We had a great night catching up with friends with the kids in the background running around and playing!!
