Day 110 11/072011 Coronation Beach – Sandy Cape Recreation Park.

Day 110 11/072011 Coronation Beach – Sandy Cape Recreation Park.
Splish splash splish splash went the rain on the roof of the caravan, we were awoken early to the sound of rain and this wasn’t really what we wanted to hear, because we were moving on today.  We slowly packed up around the rain showers, this though wasn’t a good idea as we found out later in the day when we were unpacking that Pete had left the electrical cord on the fence!! He had also left the hose hanging off the bike handles but luckily the hose didn’t fall off onto the road, it must have just swung around heaps whilst we were travelling.

We called into Geraldton on the way south because Callum had finished reading his books a couple of days ago and, well to be honest, Callum really needs to have a book to fall back on after he has exhausted other play options!!  Pete had also suggested that we get him a model aeroplane as this could be an alternative way to capture his imagination and attention!!  We found a toy store and the boys both picked a model to build and Claudia picked a new fairy.  We decided that it was time for the stimulus package to leave Geraldton and to head south!!  We were also keen to get away from the rain and the weather forecast indicated that it wasn’t raining south at the moment.
We found a place to stay for a few days about 10kms north of Jurien Bay, Sandy Cape Recreation Park.  This was a beautiful spot right on Sandy Cape and yippee it wasn’t raining!!  Once we had set up camp the kids had a great time exploring the sand dunes, Zac also checked out potential fishing spots for tomorrow.
Luckily we had another electrical cord so we could still hook up to the generator!!
