Day 109 10/07/2011 Coronation Beach
We were woken up this morning to the sound of rain on the roof of the van, whilst disappointed it had to happen because it is raining both up and down the Western Australia coast. The caravan again felt like an ice box and we were reluctant to get out of bed. But today was the day we solved the cold problem in the caravan (yippee), yes you guessed it we bought a heater. Yesterday our neighbour showed us a little portable gas heater that he had for his van and we thought that was a great idea so we headed into Geraldton this morning and called in a the local camping shop and luckily they had one. We couldn’t wait to get home and try it out.

We also decided that we would go to church today; yesterday in our wandering around the streets of Geraldton we had located an Anglican Church, so we headed there today. I guess I was also thinking that a church would be nice and warm!! Ha, I was so wrong, it was a huge cathedral and it was freezing, almost like sitting in the freezer section at Coles!!. I got so cold I had to put my beanie on. No chance of catching 40 winks during the sermon, too cold to sleep!! There was one tiny heater but it had a baby parked right next to it. I thought it would be poor form to push the baby away so I could sit next to the heater, but I did think about it.
The rest of the day we spent at the van, I had a lovely afternoon chatting to a neighbour and doing some more of my long stitch, Pete kicked back and read the paper and then played shuttlecock with Callum, Claudia played and Zac went fishing. Again no fish for dinner, but he had fun.
Thankfully the rain held off for the afternoon so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the winters day.
