Day 116 17/07/2011 Perth

Day 116 17/07/2011 Perth
We all slept in this morning, I think the long bike ride / walk all over Rottnest Island yesterday had exhausted us all.  After a leisurely breakfast of bacon and eggs (I could get used to living here) we headed off to explore Fremantle and the Fremantle markets.
Sandy Cape - moon rising
Fremantle is a beautiful town and we had a great time exploring the streets.  The kids loved the markets and we were exposed to a huge array of purchasing options, their eyes were boggling.  As we wandered the markets we stumbled across a street performer who was swallowing swords!! The kids quickly sat down and we stopped to watch. After the street performer had finished and I was still wondering why someone would ever want to or ever think to swallow a sword…luckily he kept repeating “kids don’t try this at home”.
We headed off from the markets to our lunch date at Ocean Reef, we were very excited to be catching up with Emma and Howard again.  We decided that we would take the scenic route from Fremantle to Ocean Reef and we were not disappointed, the drive took us down a sweeping coast line past pristine beaches and the most gorgeous seaside suburbs, I kept mumbling “Oh wow how beautiful is this I could live here”, Pete kept mumbling back “where would you put the horse??” He was right again!! We had a lovely lunch and it was great to catch up with friends.
We took the same scenic drive back and enjoyed the sunset over the ocean as we cruised down the road.
