Day 99 30/6/2011 Quobba Station – Carnarvon

Sunset on One Mile Pier - Carnarvon
Day 99 30/6/2011 Quobba Station – Carnarvon

We woke to a glorious day and happily packed up camp to head to Carnarvon, we needed to stock the cupboards and wash some clothes!!
Once we finished the groceries we headed off to the local Big 4 for the night.  We set up camp, did the washing and then decided that we had earned an afternoon fishing at One Mile Pier.
The littlest fish that Claudia caught!!
This was a fun afternoon where everybody but me caught fish, Callum caught the biggest, a 27cm Bream, Zac caught the most – lots of Mullaway and Bream, Claudia caught the smallest fish and Pete just hung around in the middle.  We hung around for as long as we could until the light faded.  A very relaxing afternoon.  While we were fishing Pete did the boy thing and quietly checked out the pier.  He wasn’t too happy with it and was mumbling something about closing it down.  He said half the pylons had gaping gaps at the water level and they were still driving a train on it……He kept mumbling the whole way back about how the pier was obviously about to fall down.  The kids and I just kept walking and ignoring him!!
